Mexican Food = Gassy Baby

A very good friend of mine, Kelly, stopped by with her sweet baby boy Brody yesterday. Eli and Brody had a great time playing. Brody is a little rolly polly while Eli just sits up and watch him. We decided to eat Mexican for lunch. Everyone knows how much I love Mexican! But....it seems every time I eat it Eli gets a tummy ache. Some people don't believe that what you eat, when you are nursing, affects the baby. I used to be one of those people. I remember after Eli was born my Granny telling me I wasn't going to be able to eat Mexican, little did I know she was right! I usually get veggie fajitas but yesterday I tried a chimichanga thinking the onions were the problem. I was wrong, my poor baby was up half the night with gas. He started fussing around 2, at 3 I told David to go get in bed. As soon as I would lay him down he would start fussing, not the "don't lay me down" fuss but a "I'm hurting" fuss. So we laid him down on his tummy and he pretty much went to sleep. Even though he is 6 and half months old I couldn't leave him on his tummy to sleep, so he slept in the bed with David and me. I am working 7a to 11a so hopefully he is feeling better this morning.

So the conclusion is my Granny is always right and no more Mexican food!

Little Sprouts Consignment Sale!

http://www.littlesproutssale.com/

Little Sprouts is a boutique and upscale children's sale. My favorite part is that a portion of of the proceeds from the Spring/Summer sale will go to benefit Amazima Ministries in Uganda...an amazing organization that Mindy, from Little Sprouts, was able to be involved with this past summer during her trip to Africa. Little Sprouts carries only top quality items including, but certainly not limited to, Matilda Jane, Baby Lulu, Castles & Crowns, Orient Expressed, Kelly’s Kids, Boden, Catimini, Janie & Jack, Kate Mack, Gap, Gymboree, and Wes & Willy.

If you cosign with Little Sprouts you’ll receive 75% of your selling price (minus a $9 Publicity Fee). Volunteers working 2 shifts receive 80% of their selling price.

I can't wait for the sale this spring!! Mark your calendars for February 26th!

Adventures in baby food making!

I love my Babycook! It's so easy! So far I have made pear, apples and sweet potatoes. Granny bought Eli pre-made carrots from the store because home made carrots contain too many nitrates. Some how they take those out during the process. The first time Eli tried carrots I was working, one of my whopping 5 days a month. Mom tried to give Eli a bite and he made an awful face. So David tried and he made another face and cried! I tried later that night and he ate the whole thing for me. :)
